The German government, in coordination with the German states, has announced the easing of border restrictions with its neighbors.  Additionally, we are aware that airlines are advertising additional direct flights between the United States and Germany.  Please note, however, that travel restrictions into Germany remain in place.  The German federal government has provided a useful English-language FAQ covering the current public health and travel restrictions.

The U.S. Embassy in Berlin and Consulates General Frankfurt and Munich remain closed for routine services.  We can offer limited emergency services on a case-by-case basis.  Any person entering a consular section in Mission Germany for an emergency service will be required to wear a face covering; children under six years old and those unable to wear a covering are exempted.

Visit our website for the latest information about COVID-19.
