Ambassador Grenell Hosts Kickoff Event for Berlin Food Week at Embassy

Slow-cooked U. S. beef short rib, sweet potato mash, corn and peanut crumble

U.S. Embassy Berlin hosted 60 guests from the Berlin restaurant and media sphere to inaugurate Berlin Food Week (BFW). The United States is the proud partner country of this year’s BFW, a one-week, multi-event food festival with city-wide promotions. This year food from the United States will be highlighted at targeted consumer workshops and exclusive dinners with celebrity chefs. BWF also organizes a “restaurant week” program with 70 participating restaurants across the city. Called the “Stadt Menu” program, this year’s specially priced multi-course menus have the theme, “Roast Trip.” Special cuts of beef and California wines were presented at the kickoff event to get the restaurants participating in the Stadt Menu excited about integrating U.S. beef and wine for their menus. U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell attended the event and greeted the participating restaurants and media representatives. Berlin Food Week will take place from September 17-23, 2018.
