Permanent Closure of U.S. Consular Agency Bremen

The U.S. Mission to Germany plans to consolidate consular services in northern Germany.  Effective December 31, 2018, the U.S. Consular Agency in Bremen (which has been closed since September 2017) is closed permanently.  All U.S. passport applications, reports of birth abroad applications, and notarial services will be available at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin and at the U.S. Consulates General in Frankfurt or Munich. Please refer to the links provided below for detailed information on how to schedule an appointment for consular services and how to prepare for your appointment.

For emergency services in the Berlin consular district, which includes the states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia, U.S. citizens should contact the consular section at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin.

The U.S. government remains committed to providing the highest quality consular services for U.S. citizens and foreign nationals.
