The American Liaison Network and Citizen Liaison Volunteers

The American Citizen Services Unit of the U.S. Embassy Berlin is looking for individuals interested in participating in the newly formed American Liaison Network.

Potential tasks could involve relaying emergency information to U.S. citizens in a designated area, being a first point of contact for Embassy staff, participating in discussions via online forums and in person meetings, and helping Embassy staff understand issues of concern to U.S. citizens.  In exigent situations only, and at post’s explicit direction, you may also be asked to help the Embassy provide emergency services to U.S. citizens.

We are looking for individuals with close ties to the U.S. Expat community who are long term residents in Berlin’s Consular district:  Brandenburg, Bremen, Berlin, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, and Thuringia.  Volunteers don’t have to be U.S. citizens, and the time commitment involved would be minimal.

If you are interested in applying to be a volunteer, please fill out a short questionnaire.  Once you’ve filled out the questions, email the application to berlinconsularoutreachdl@state.gov.  If you are selected, you will be contacted by Embassy staff.
