Evan Wolfson at the Schwules Museum

Evan Wolfson is the founder and president of Freedom to Marry, the campaign to win marriage equality in the United States. In collaboration with U.S. Embassy Berlin, Wolfson spoke on October 9 at the Schwules Museum in Berlin about the history of the struggle for marriage equality and the legal battle that led to the June 2015 decision of the U.S. Supreme Court to grant the right to marriage to gay and lesbian couples. Wolfson also visited Munich and Frankfurt during his trip to German-speaking Europe, as well as Vienna and Zurich. The U.S. government recognizes LGBT rights and human rights as one and the same.
