Direct flights remain available from Frankfurt on Condor, United, and Lufthansa to limited destinations in the United States. In addition to direct flights, there are connections available through Amsterdam, London and Paris to the United States. The number of flights continues to decline, and we encourage you to depart now if you wish to return to the United States.

U.S. citizens wishing to renew their German residency, or with questions about visa or residency status, should visit the COVID-19 FAQ page of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees available here. If you apply to extend or renew your residency prior to the expiration of your visa or residency permit, your residency will remain valid throughout the extension processing. More information about that process can be found in English at the link above.
