Remarks from the Israel Solidarity Rally in Berlin
Like it was yesterday, I can remember the horrifying attack on Israel 50 years ago that began the Yom Kippur War. Today I can no longer say LIKE it was yesterday. It WAS yesterday when we all were horrified by Hamas’s brutal attack on Israel.
Ambassador Prosor: My deepest sympathies for what you and your fellow citizens are going through. Know that just like I am standing with you on this stage, President Biden and the American people stand with Israel. And the United States unequivocally condemns the attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists. We are heartbroken by the Israeli lives lost and for those taken and wounded.
The United States stands in absolute support of Israel’s right to defend itself and its people. I am also heartened to see the friend Israel has in Germany. I thank everyone here today: government leaders, fellow ambassadors, community leaders, and everyone else showing their support. Your presence here today sends a loud and clear message – WE STAND WITH ISRAEL IN UNWAVERING SOLIDARITY!
I am a lifelong and steadfast supporter of Israel. I want the world to know that the United States will do everything we can to support the defense of Israel. We stand with our Israeli sisters and brothers. Israel’s defense is our defense. Thank you.
